DHCP client service not starting

Over the last couple days I have noticed a few machines that are infected and the dhcp client service won't start, this keeps windows from obtaining an ip address. If you go into services.msc and try to start the dhcp client service you will get an error about a dependency not present. I have only seen a couple of machines with this issue and I haven't determined which infection is causing it, but so far netbt.sys has been missing in the systems. This file is a dependency for dhcp client it is the netbios over tcp/ip driver. On one system I was able to fix it by replacing the missing file and on another I had to perform a repair install (aka in place upgrade). I have on seen this on windows xp machines so far. For more information about the dhcp client service check out this page from mvps.org.
